‘SQUIPPERS’ RAISE OVER £2100
Seventeen members of Survival Equipment Flight took part in the Lincoln 10k race earlier this year, raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Charity.
The team of mostly novice runners completed 6km training runs on a weekly basis, gradually building up to 10km routes. The whole team completed the Lincoln 10k course; Flying Officer Fiona Taylor was the quickest with a time of: 41min 52sec. It was the first ever 10k race for SAC Krystal Gosal who completed the course in 53min 08sec.
Sergeant Shaun Smythe organised and managed the team throughout their training. He said: “We decided to ask friends and family to sponsor our efforts and donate the funds to the Prostate Cancer Charity.” He added: “We are delighted to have raised a total of £2107.87 which is far more than anyone anticipated!”
