Award Winning Photographers

Congratulations go to the RAF Coningsby Photographic section on their successful performance in the Royal Air Force Photographic Competition, where they won awards in two categories.

The competition took place at the RAF Museum, Hendon on Tuesday 6 Sep 11. The competition is open to wide entry criteria; including all regular RAF photographic personnel, staff and cadets of the Air Training Corps, Combined Cadet force members, RAF Reserves and any other RAF personnel who see themselves as budding photographers.

Although the section has been extremely busy over the last year with Ops overseas and a large number of taskings around the Station, they were able to find the time to compile some wonderful shots for the competition. The judges had a tough job, with some fantastic images being displayed and over 950 images entered from the width and breadth of the RAF and cadet force. Although congratulations go to the entire Photographic Section, special congratulations go to SAC Andy Seaward for receiving 3rd place in the Best Portrait category, (Pictured) and Sgt Pete Mobbs for winning the RAF Public Relations Image of the Year. His picture ‘if the Glove Fits’ (pictured) was taken whilst deployed out on Op Ellamy, and was deemed by the judges to be the best overall public relations image. The prize winning individuals now look forward to receiving their prizes from Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton at the presentation ceremony to be held at the RAF Club, Piccadilly, London, in October.
