Air Marshal Sir Christopher Harper KBE MA CMgr RAF visited RAF Coningsby on 14th July 2016 in order to commemorate the centenary of No.41 Squadron in his capacity as former Officer Commanding No.41 Squadron and President of the No.41 Squadron association.

No.41 Squadron was formed at Gosport on 14th July 1916. To mark the event 41 Squadron paraded the standard on 29 Squdrons pan infront of a ainted 41 Squadron Typhoon aircraft and a Tornado aircraft.

Today, 9 June 16, Typhoon pilot Flight Lieutenant Richard 'Killa' Watts achieved the incredible feat of reaching his 2000th hour on type.
After reaching his 2000th hour, Flt Lt Watts landed at RAF Coningsby to be greeted by the Fire Section creating an arch of water on the taxi way in front of Flt Lt Watts' Typhoon.
After parking GiNa (Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary themed Typhoon) back at 29 Squadron, Flt Lt Watts was welcomed back to ground by pilots and friends from across the Station. Flt Lt Watts was awarded his Typhoon 2000+ Hour shoulder patch (Designed by Flt Lt Parkinson) which was presented by Air Commodore Duguid.
