HARVEST SERVICE AND FOOD COLLECTION

The Church of the Holy Spirit at Royal Air Force Coningsby opened its doors for a Harvest Service on Sunday 25 September 2011.

Station personnel and local residents were welcomed to a service conducted by Padre (Flight Lieutenant) Jessie Holland and Padre Mr Sandy Gall who preached the lesson.

Donations of food and toiletries for the Nomad Trust were donated by the Congregation; Station personnel and ISS Defence staff.

Public opinion shows that there is a negative stigma attached to homelessness. The Nomad Trust aims to raise awareness of the severity of this problem.

In Lincoln, The Nomad Trust works towards helping homeless people from all walks of life to regain their independence and self-respect. When a person is at their lowest ebb, the charity is there to offer shelter, food, warmth and companionship together with guidance and support. Working with some of the most vulnerable people in society, The Nomad Trust is providing more than just a roof over people’s heads.
