SEF and the Lincoln 10k Challenge

First day back in work after the Christmas break is never the best time in the world. Over indulged in drink, food and a tight fitting pair of trousers makes you think you need to go to clothing stores for a larger uniform, or take the harder route and get back in the gym!

Then a Lincoln 10k route map was thrust into my hands with the question “Are you up for it?” What better way to loosen the trousers than training to a realistic target you can work towards?

We now have fifteen members within Survival Equipment Flight (SEF) all entered for the Lincoln 10k Challenge and we will be supporting The Prostate Cancer Charity.  It’s a cancer that affects 35,000 men each year, a very worthwhile charity to support and we’ve been training daily since the New Year.

With the help of Google Earth, 10k routes have been mapped around the local area and we are using these as training routes for the big day. With only weeks to go now until Sunday 3rd April, we’re collecting as much sponsorship as we can around camp, so if you see any “Squippers” with charitable sponsor forms please dig deep and help a worthwhile cause. This will only be the beginning for SEF; other local 10k challenges are in the pipeline supporting other charities. By the end of the year who knows, maybe going to clothing stores for new fitting uniform might be an option, but for smaller sizes!!!
