Welcome to issue 2 of OnetoOne for 2012. By the time this hits your home or crewroom we will be already well into the spring and I do hope that you are all rested and refreshed after a decent Easter Break with families and friends.
The news that RAF Coningsby was selected as the winner of the Stainforth Trophy is a great reflection on everyone’s achievements throughout 2011.
As you will read in the Stainforth Trophy article, it was a huge team effort at home, deployed, inside and outside of the work place that set your achievements apart from all the other stations within the RAF. On a personal note, I would like to thank you all for the humour, selflessness and manner in which you conducted yourselves and in particular for the patience and support of your families; when you read the citation it is obvious that the award belongs to each and every one of you – congratulations! As predicted, this year is proving to be just as busy particularly as we build up to the London 2012 and the vitally important role that Typhoon and our personnel will have to play to ensure a safe and successful Olympics.
I don’t underestimate the amount of work and sacrifice this will take but hope that you can take the opportunity to enjoy the other events of the summer and in particular the Station Families Day on 16th June. Until then, fingers crossed for some good barbeque weather!!
